About MPCA
The Montana Primary Care Association (MPCA) is a non-profit
organization of ambulatory health care providers whose primary
purpose is to serve Montana's medically unserved and underserved
residents without financial or other discrimination.
MPCA seeks to:
- Improve access to quality primary care for all Montanans
through policy advocacy, education, training, technical
assistance, and information dissemination activities at
local, state, regional, and national levels.
- Develop a diverse membership of primary care providers
and other interested individuals or organizations which
mirrors the full range of provider models designed to serve
the primary care needs of unserved and underserved Montanans.
- Provide a forum for information sharing, discussion,
and development of strategies for addressing statewide primary
care issues.
- Encourage and support new and existing providers
in areas of the state which experience shortages of primary
care.
- Assist communities in attracting and retaining primary
care providers in all disciplines, provide support for
the implementation of inter-disciplinary care models, and
advocate for practice opportunities which utilize the skills
and training of all primary care disciplines.
- Strengthen the viability and stability of primary care
practices in unserved or underserved areas through revenue
enhancement, education, and training to improve the cost
effectiveness of primary care practice.
- Assist Montana residents with difficulties in obtaining
affordable, accessible health care to overcome geographic,
financial, language, cultural, and other barriers to care.
