Cindy Stergar, Executive Director, Butte Community Health Center.

The Butte Community Health Center (CHC) has received a $263,000 grant to expand their primary care services to two new clinic access sites, one in Dillon (Beaverhead County) and another in Twin Bridges (Madison County). “We are excited to offer this opportunity to our neighboring counties,” said Cindy Stergar, Executive Director of the Butte CHC. “In addition to the funds we will receive to start up the new clinics this year,” she continued, “we will receive $522,000 annually. These grant funds will have a big impact on the people who live in those areas who need sliding scale primary care.” Cindy says there were about 40 people at a community meeting in Dillon which was held recently to describe the services and startup timeline. A similar meeting will take place on October 8th in Twin Bridges.

Patricia Carrick, a family nurse practitioner who lives in Dillon but who has been working at the Health Center in Butte, will now be able to serve her community at home. She will work full time at a temporary clinic site as soon as it can open. The permanent clinic facility will not be completed until March of next year. Several physicians in Dillon have agreed to help serve patients through contractual arrangements.

The new clinic in Twin Bridges will intially be open a half day per week.
