New Lincoln County Community Health Center Opens for Business in Libby, MT

On December 31, 2001, the Lincoln County Community Health Center (LCCHC) staff provided primary care services to their first patient. “We are very excited to provide these services and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work of the Steering Committee and other community members,“ said Kimberly Rowse, the Executive Director.

The clinic is located at 711 California Avenue in Libby. The building had previously housed a physician’s office and has been renovated to meet the needs of LCCHC to include four exam rooms, a procedure room, a dental operatory, a small lab, and a full reception area.

Staff on board include Medical Director Fred Tai, M.D.; Amy Butler, Patient Accounts Representative; Holly Haugen, Medical Records/Dental Assistant; Financial Officer, Maria McClernan, CPA; Charlene Lecrone, Certified Medical Assistant; Mary Karen Caraway, MSW; and Ruth Fenn, RN. “We are very lucky - all of our staff either lived in Libby, or have returned to help us with the clinic. Many patients have expressed their appreciation to us for offering medical care on a sliding scale. This was much needed,” added Kimberly.
