MPCA helps CHCs deliver the best clinical care possible. By promoting the best improvement science available, MPCA helps health centers ensure that patients receive high quality, safe, and cost-effective care.  To that aim, MPCA supports its members development of a range of essential competencies, including:

  • Leadership: MPCA helps boards, management, and clinical leaders set the direction for strategic quality improvement initiatives, obtain resources for these projects, set timelines, and follow up on achievement of goals.
  • Teamwork: Clinical teams deliver coordinated care to their patients when practitioners communicate and collaborate. This teamwork leads to all providers working at the top of their license or training, a high level of satisfaction among staff, and improved outcomes for patients.
  • Quality improvement, quality assurance, risk management and patient safety: These interconnected skills and processes all play a role in overall clinical improvement. MPCA supports clinicians in working together on evidenced-based clinical practices and implementing best practices in their clinic environment.
  • Emergency preparedness: Preparation for an emergency is important so care continues for most vulnerable patients in the event of an emergency that disrupts the normal operations of the clinic.
