This position provides computer operational and software assistance to users. Uses strong analytical skills to resolve problems. The role will perform preventative maintenance, installs, and maintains workstations and other end-user devices. Additionally, the position will work directly with vendors for the service and maintenance of the equipment and software. May be looked upon to take on added responsibilities to help achieve overall agency goals and initiatives. Proactively seeks opportunities to reduce costs and improve customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Provides computer and user support throughout the Health Center’s operation to include employees, contracted employees and business partners.
-Serve as senior technical support for network, computer hardware, and software issues.
-Identifies, triage, and resolves a variety of technical problems.
-Escalates unresolved issues to the appropriate IT staff or vendor.
-Manage user identities across the various systems.
-Creates and maintains documentation on common issues and processes.
-Perform installs, upgrades, moves, and changes to computer workstation hardware, software, printers, and other peripheral devices.
-Coordinate with management and staff regarding technology implementation and upgrades.
-Manage or participate in technical projects.
-Participate in the after-hours “on-call” support of the agency.
-May be called upon to perform various audits of data held within information systems.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Attend conferences, workshops, and training to gather information and receive instruction on new technology in the –Information Technology Field and coordinate efforts with external vendors and partners.
-Manage special projects, attend meetings and conferences, provide backup for other staff, participate in training, etc.
-Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
-Associates degree or higher in a technical field is preferred.
-Vendor certifications are strongly considered and recommended. (e.g., A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, CCNP, etc.)
-Valid driver’s license and insurance required
-2+ Years of experience in a professional IT environment
-1-2 years of experience providing customer service required.
-Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
SKILLS & ATTITUDES
-Familiarity with HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, or PCI
-Previous experience designing and implementing Windows Server-based solutions
-Previous experience with Azure AD, Office 365, SharePoint Teams, Skype, and OneDrive
-Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy design, implementation, and testing
-Familiarity with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, PowerShell, and scripting
-Familiarity with Virtualization (Cloud, Hyper-V, and VMWare)
-Functional knowledge of networking protocols
-Strong networking skills – Firewalls / Security, switching, ISP setup, and debugging
-Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
-Able to work in and with a team or without oversight
-Understand and follow HIPAA requirements.
-Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to quality are required.
-Able to instruct users in using basic computer operations and explain the proper use of different software packages in an easy-to-understand manner.
-Understand and execute written and oral instructions.
-Above average verbal and written communication skills are essential.
