The Lay Counselor Academy is a 14-week intensive course that equips your staff with practical mental health counseling skills. The LCA is for “helping professionals” who don’t have mental health degrees or licenses. These are often folks with titles like care manager, Community Health Worker, resource coordinator, and more. The LCA gives these helping professionals the mental health counseling skills they need to do the job they are often already doing – providing crucial mental health support without traditional clinical licenses. They offer empathic care, bridging the gap in mental health services.
